DC LIVERS PROVIDES STATEMENT ON BLACKPRESS RADIO ABOUT BEV SMITH SHOW BEING PULLED
STATEMENT on American Urban Radio Network's termination of the Bev Smith Show by DC Livers, managing editor for Historical Black Press Foundation. "Shame on AURN for pulling the plug on a show that is so desperately needed in our community," said Livers. "Our community is being hit with record level poverty, job loss and with the upcoming presidential election, it is reckless for AURN to end a sho...w that gave voice to so many." OUR VOICES were silenced....will you be silent? Two weeks after being named BEST BLACK RADIO SHOW at the 2011 Black Press All Star Awards in Washington, DC, AURN has pulled the show off the air saying the demographic (and possibly the host) is too old.
