Bev Smith Talks Statement of respect:

I am concerned that African Americans have lost respect for themselves as others refuse to respect our culture, our spirituality, our human self esteem and quality of life. On this day, before God and my fellow African Americans, I pledge that I will show respect for my ancestors who died, so my struggle in America would be easier. I pledge that from this day I will respect myself, my family, my neighborhood and my community. I will walk with dignity, holding my head high, knowing I represent the greatness of African American people. I will never forget the history of my people in America. And I will remember with respect. I pledge to teach my family and my friends to respect each other.  I will stand up, be counted and get involved in the advancement of my people.

On this day,  I sign this Bev Smith pledge of respect to keep forever.
